Junglism

Just when is it I get to visit a jungle? What actually is a jungle? Every time I think I'm getting close, I get a little more information and find that it's not a jungle at all. Frankly, I'd expect monkeys, vines and crocodiles. It seems that the only way you can view a jungle is in black and white, in old 'Tarzan' movies (where Tarzan wrestles the lion – termed 'King of the Jungle' despite spending its whole life living on the African planes). I've just seen mountain gorillas in the Ugandan Rain Forest, I've seen lions and elephants on the savannah, I've hiked through a 'cloud forest' on the Inca Trail and walked through the Okavango Delta (an 'inland water system'), yet nowhere have I ever even come near to a jungle. The Congo, perhaps? Either that or the Amazon... 'rain forest'. Guess not, then.
